Jeep offers award-winning engines with their Grand Cherokee model, including their Pentastar V8, HEMI V8, and EcoDiesel V6. Linked to every engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all engines will be available with the most dynamic four-wheel drive systems on the market. The base configuration of the 2017 Grand Cherokee features the efficient yet powerful 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, and it produces 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The optional 5.7-liter HEMI V8 will boast 390 lb-ft of torque and 360 horsepower, while the turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 offers a diesel-powered alternative and can produce 420 lb-ft of torque and 240 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all models, with the exception of the Trailhawk. Most models can be equipped with the all-wheel drive systems called Quadra-Trac I or Quadra-Trac II, and the Trailhawk features an optimized version of the Quadra-Drive II for an amazing performance in rough off-road conditions.
